Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Practical answers backed by TCNA Handbook recommendations and ANSI specifications.

Under standard conditions (70°F / 21°C and 50% humidity), you can walk gently on standard polymer-modified thinset after 24 hours. For rapid-setting thinset (such as MAPEI Rapid Setting or Custom SpeedSet), you can walk on the tile in just 2 to 4 hours. In cold temperatures (50°F to 60°F) or when installing large porcelain tiles over waterproof membranes, wait at least 48 hours.
